When developing new refrigeration plants or upgrading existing facilities, our engineers apply advanced green technologies that allow our clients to meet the economic, social and environmental needs while fully satisfying all the safety codes, regulations and system operation requirement.
Natural Refrigerants
JSRE applies natural refrigerants to most of the refrigeration plants we are involved in. Environmentally neutral refrigerants include ammonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2), which have zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential.
Energy Efficiency
JSRE helps our clients meet energy saving target with an integrated design approach. Favouring the use of high efficiency equipment in the refrigeration system leads to significant economic benefits. System design criteria are set to increase refrigeration system efficiency.
Waste Heat Reclaim
Using recovered waste heat from the ammonia refrigeration system has become one of our typical design approaches. Typical applications include ice rink sub-floor heating, freezer under floor heating, domestic water preheating, boiler makeup water heating, and food processing water preheating.
Affordability
We valuate various green design options and make decision with affordability in mind to save system initiate capital investment. Also, with system energy study, we provide design and recommendations to qualify the system for BC Hydro Power Smart grants.
New Technology
In recent years, JSRE has been increasingly focusing on new technologies, such as CO2 refrigeration system, ammonia DX freezer system, and low ammonia charge chiller system. Adopting these new technologies provides not only environmental benefits, but also significant operational and system safety benefits.
JSRE is proud of our contribution to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
